Trying to Find – Medan Hardcore

eMusik.net TRYING TO FIND was formed at the end of 2001 by Eric Sitohang (vocal), by inviting some coveys of scene, Moses Hutapea (guitar), Yoseph Pohan (bass) and Riyandi Himawan (drum). Eric tried to bring a new breed for Medan scenes which were dominated by new-school and metalcore genres. By amalgamated ideas and perspectives with Moses, Yoseph and Riyandi; Eric defined Trying To Find as a band with fast-move old-school Hardcore style (3 chords styles). In early of 2002, Trying To Find performed their first 6 own songs; old school beat and razor-blade riffs with the lyrics which so close to circumstance of reality (no bullshit!)
All music and lyrics were created by Eric and were assisted by personnel of Trying To Find. All existing songs have never been recorded till February 2008 (INDEPENDENT D.I.Y.). Trying To Find music were not familiar to many peoples except who always stood in the pit Trying To Find performances. There was no big shifted in Trying To Find music hitherto; only a few alteration in sound of guitar
Personal activities became the main reason why Trying To Find never took a time for recorded their own-song. In 2003, Riyandi moved to Bandung City and Yoseph did the same to Jogjakarta City. The vacant positions were replaced by Tadashi Umeda (bass) and Zero (drum). At the end of 2004, Tadashi also moved and became a Japan citizen. After returning from Jogjakarta, Yoseph took a part in this band again; replacing Tadashi in early 2008. Among 2001 – 2009 each personnel of Trying To Find also keep playing the sound in a lot of bands with various genres
In early of 2010, band members thought that Trying To Find need to extend and to re-arrange the music. Honestly, all the members felt boring after 9 years. Then Trying To Find recruited Richard Tambun (who is also guitarist of Foredoom – Death Metal) thus we got the fresh blood! Feel free to find the new sound and style of Trying To Find on the stage
Unfortunately, on October 2010, our formed Guitarist, Moses Trafolta chose to out from the band after discussion about the future of this band. The main reason is to focus with his business. Anyway,He will always be part of us!
A lot of bands and peoples who come and go, who play music in diverse styles and genres, but Trying To Find is still existing in our scene as your friends and as your brothers
